I'm terrible

Ok.... so I swear I am the worst at blogging. At first I was really into it and did it often, but now I never get around to it. I hope I can be better.

A lot has happened since December(my last post). Max had his first Christmas and it was so great. It was so fun seeing Oaklee's face light up when she saw her presents and so funny to see Max be so confused as to why we were making him tear open paper.

Another thing that we did was play in the snow. Now if any of you know me you know I would rather die than go out in the snow..... So I sent Justin out with the kids. Oaklee was all set but we weren't able to find any snow pants for Max. Justin suggested we use some of Oaklee's from last year..... I warned him they were pink

The most exciting thing that happened is that Max turned 1! Wow I can't believe how fast his first year went. He is such a blessing in our lives. He has a smile that can melt your heart.

Wendy made him the neatest cake for his birthday. I always call him my little monkey and so she made him a monkey cake.

She also made the little one on the right just for him. She is amazing what would we do without Wendy.

At first Max wanted nothing to do with it...

Then he realized it was chocolate

He had a great time

The end result

Straight to the bath!

it was so much fun!

Our whole family was able to come celebrate with us. It was so nice to have them all there to support my little Max. Grandma even bought Oaklee a present so she wouldn't feel left out it was so cute. I just love being a mom

yogurt

This is what happens when you leave a 2 year old watching movies with her little brother........

I went in to check on them and Oaklee was carefully placing her GoGurt on Max's head while he just looked up and smiled on her. When we went in she just said " Daddy Look". She thought it was hilarious. Max didn't seem to mind

WOW

So it has been entirely too long since I have blogged anything. What a slacker..... Anyways tons of thing have happened. However due to my camera breaking some pictures are missing I'm sorry. I can't find the pics of the kids Halloween so I'll do a super late post when they are found. It's too bad really because Oaks was a fairy princess with the biggest puffiest skirt I have ever seen and Max was Mighty Max. My mother in law made him a super man costume with an M instead of the S and made his cape say Mighty Max on the back it was so dang cute. Oaklee is becoming such a good talker. She is talking in sentences and really expressing herself. Not that she never expressed herself before she has always put on a performance every time she tells us a story. She is such a little princess. I love her to death she really loves her brother too she calls him Matsi and gives him kisses every chance she gets.

Here she is at the Planetarium in Salt Lake. She loved it. She even sat through a movie!(as long as I let her hold the popcorn.)

Me and the kids at the pumpkin patch

Max in his 1st Halloween jammies. He is so tall that he only got to wear them once. :)

Max and His cousin Austin who is 1 month younger than Max

We also had a chance to take the kids to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake it was a blast. Totally worth it. Everything is hands on and they can do so many things

Here is Justin ready and excited to go in.

Max decided to sleep through the first half

But he woke up just in time to ride in a police car

And be an adorable cowboy

With his Daddy

Oaks being a Cowgirl (she wouldn't wear the hat though)

They even have a little grocery store for the kids to go shopping ( so cute )

A little car how cute

I made her put it on can you tell

Coolest thing in the whole museum (no joke). It's a mouse hole

View on the inside.... cool huh

And last but not least Santa

Oaks wasn't too sure until I told her he had candy haha.

Max just wanted to know who was holding him

And the most exciting thing that has happened since last time I blogged is.......
MAX IS WALKING!!! He is only 10 months and is such a little walker. Oh man I am proud of him. I love my kids more than I could ever say. I promise to be a better blogger and to post some pics and or a video of Mighty Max walking soon!

3 years!

On September 6th 2006 I married the most amazing man for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple! This Sunday we celebrated our 3 year anniversary! Word cannot express how much I love him. He is my everything, my bestfriend, my soulmate, and most of all my eternal companion. I'm so lucky to have Justin in my life. He is a wonderful husband and father.

For anyone who doesn't know we kind of have a crazy love story... I actually met him while he was in Iraq with the 222nd and we decided to get married even before we had met. When he was home on leave for 15 days he asked me to marry him and then off he went back to war. 5 very long months later he returned safely home and we were married. What a great story we have to tell our children and grandchildren someday.

Its amazing how much can change in 3 years.......
we moved from cedar
got new jobs
had two beautiful kids
and bought our first home

I just wanted to say how blessed I feel for having my husband and children in my life. They are the greatest blessings Heavenly Father has ever given me. I'm looking forward to forever with them! I love you Justin more than you will ever know!!!

Cereal!!!

Ok so there aren't any pictures to go with this one but I just had to share......
Well because Justin and I both work, my kids have to get up pretty early to get ready and to the babysitters house by 7:30 every morning. Max has no problem with this all you have to do is say his name and he sits right up and is ready to go. Oaklee on the other hand is impossible to get out of bed. I've tried everything from talking to her, turning on the light ( so mean) and turning on her cartoons. Nothing seems to work. So yesterday Justin discovered the magic way to get her up. First let me explain that Oaks is obsessed with cereal. She would eat it all day everyday if we would let her. So Justin thought if he offered it to her she would get up. All he did was open her bedroom door and say "Oaklee are you hungry? Lets go get some cereal." Up she went did a barrel roll out of her bed and sprinted to the kitchen. It was hilarious. So this morning I tried the same trick. I asked her if she was hungry and if she wanted cereal. She wasn't quite awake yet and started to roll and rolled right off her bed and hit the floor with her eyes still closed, jumped up as fast as she could, ran to the kitchen and stood by the cereal cupboard with her eyes still squinted saying "pease(please), pease mom pease" it was so funny. She is so cute.......

Our summer adventures

We have had a fun summer too bad it is over so soon! A lot of things happened be prepared this might be a long blog....

Well Max had the longest hair on the top of his head he looked like a little monkey so I decided to give him a little haircut. I put him in his purple, yes purple, bumbo chair (it was oaks and they cost 40 dollars so he can deal with purple) and away I went. He didn't even care. He just sat there and was a big boy about it.

I love how Oaklee likes to take pictures! Every time she sees a camera she immediately says cheese and pulls the cutest little faces

My beautiful little sister Sally got married this summer so off we went to Salt Lake to her wedding. My parents were married in the Salt Lake Temple and so were Justin and I so Sally followed in our footsteps and got married in the most beautiful place I've ever been

Here is the car ride up..... one awake one asleep

Here are some pics of my kids waking up on Sally's wedding day....

I curled hair for hours...

It was amazing day! The spirit was so strong. Sitting in the sealing room watching my little sis be sealed for time and all eternity was such an amazing experience.

The other exciting thing that happened this summer was my beautiful little girl turned 2! She loves the Backyardigans so we decided to have a small little get together with family and have a barbecue with the cutest cake ever! It was so fun.

So I am the assistant cheer coach at PHS and this year I got to go to cheer camp. I had so much fun with the girls they are awesome! I loved it! Minus the sitting outside in the sun all day for 4 days. The girls all made sure I had a fun time. I'm looking forward to many years with them. They are all so beautiful!

We were at cheer camp Monday thru Thursday and came home Thursday night. The next morning I got up packed my kids bags, repacked mine, and headed back up to Salt Lake for a fun weekend at the zoo with my family before I had to return to work. Oaklee had so much fun. She loves animals, especially monkeys. We bought both our kids a hat, although Oaks wouldn't wear hers, and spent the day just showing Max and Oaklee the amazing animals. Max slept through most of it but woke up just in time to ride the carousel. He rode on a little penguin and Oaks rode a hippo. I love how the simple things like going to the zoo light up the faces of my kids. It was so much fun to just get away and take my kids somewhere just for them. For no reason at all but to see them smile. We stayed at the Little America and took the kids swimming. It was a blast. It was probably one of the funnest trips I've been on in a while. It really made the end of summer great!

Our summer although it was short was wonderful. Spending time with my kids was the best thing ever. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the wonderful job that I have that allows me to be with my kids as often as I am. I love my kids so much they bring so much joy to me. I never knew I could love someone so much until I met my husband and had my two beautiful kids. I love being a mom and look forward to all the many memories I get to make with my family!
